SLES11 install on RDP Server

Hi,

does anyone have a good bullet list of actions needed to be able to 'install' SLES11 onto the HPSIM/ICE/RDP server, in the same manner that the included template for SLES10SP2 is setup?

I have found 1 vague link on the HP site, which doesnt go into much detail.

Hi,

does anyone have any info for my question?

I have managed to get the process of system installation to work, but it doesnt complete properly. After a reboot, the BL460 G6 tells me that there is no active partition.

If I use a rescue CD and fdisk /dev/cciss/c0d0 and mark the primary partition as active, it then tell me that there is no operating system installed.

subsequent reruns of the rescue CD can see valid partition tables, and a system, but it wont boot.

I think the issue is to do with Altiris RDP, as a 'local install' using the SUV cable and a DVD drive works fine.

I know the management server is working ok, as I can install all of the default OSes no problem.

any ideas anyone?

Hi.

Usually new OS support comes with a new RDP version.

As i check the current version 6.0.0 has support for SLES11 and sles10SP2.

Hi,

I've now got a call open with HP, as there seems to be an issue with the default.xml file that is used as part of the RDP install.

I've installed RDP 6 to SP3, but am still working through the config they have sent me to sort this issue.
