System hangs while transferring files

I am trying to use a scripted build of Wimdows 2000 Server. I am building a DL380G2 server, and the system just hangs, at different spots, when the build is copying the os files. It varies from 50-60$ everytime. What could be wrong?

Re: System hangs while transferring files

Are you using the standard onboard NIC, or are you using a different one installed in the server?

Have you tried an alternative NIC?

Re: System hangs while transferring files

No I not tried an alternative nic.

I am using the on-board nic in the server. I have tried ojn another G2 we have here and it does the same thing.

Re: System hangs while transferring files

Ok, the onboard NIC in the DL380 G2 is a Broadcom NIC. This is the first rev, I believe, of "Compaq/HP" going to Broadcom instead of Intel NICs.

Try downloading the newest B57.dos driver and using it in your boot files.

Another way to determine if it is the NIC is to use another nic, like an Intel to determine whether or not it has anything to do with the driver.
