1850R will not shut down
This machine is running W2K, SP3, all relvant patches, latest ROM, support program from Smart start 5.5. After selecting shutdown the server go to the "It is safe to power off the machine" message. Is there anyway that it can be configured to actually power off??

Re: 1850R will not shut down
Hi,
afaik this message ist typical in shutdown procedures with non-acpi kernel modus. You can change your kernel to ACPI if you realy need on two ways: new installation of operation system or change "computer-properties" in device manager. Microsoft recommends to run fresh installation. Also check BIOS options support for ACPI.
Cheers

Re: 1850R will not shut down
Thanks for the reply. One piece of information that I failed to mention is that this server is multi processor. According to Microsoft technet, APM is not supported on MP machines.
