300 GB HDD for HP DL 380 G5 servers ?

Hi All,

Can anyone here please assist me in finding the compatible 300 GB SAS  2'5"Hot Plug HDD  ?
[15k rpm single port is optional].

I've read through http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/archives_North_America/12477_na_v37/12477_na.PDF but cannot find the 300 GB SAS HDD ?

The Storage controller is SmartArray P400.

hello,

hp dl 380 g5 servers are available in hp products but your so servers is compatiable upto 32 gb only as i saw in the hp product

if  you gone for further genration i recommmend you that go for this product hp dl380 g9

Do you have the model number that is on the drive? Try the following link in Google:

and look at the Model Number Matrix or HPE SAS Hard Drive. The HardDrivesDirect link has a model number matrix as well.

I did some checking with our technical teams.  The HP QuickSpecs list the HDD’s compatible to what generation of server.  There is not a current shipping 300GB drive that has been qualified for Gen5, so that means support is not provided by HPE. 

This is one drive that would work but it is not qualified:

 HP 300GB 6G SAS 15K rpm SFF (2.5-inch) Hot Plug Enterprise 3yr Warranty Hard Drive  627117-B21

 If you want to find more that will work - look for "Non Smart Carrier hot plug drives"; they will fit in a G5 server.

According to me SparePartNumber 507284-001 is the 300GB/10k/SAS model for DL380G5 (with P400 controller)
