3ware raid controller needs PCI 2.2 but my server has 2.1

I have a Compaq Proliant 1600 Server here, but it has only PCI 2.1 slots. For my 3ware 7006-2 raid controller I need PCI 2.2.
The bios of the server recognizes that there is a controller but I have no posibillity to get into the bios of this controller.
Is there a posibillity that my controller works in this server ?
