Add new SCSI drive for extra space

I was wondering if anyone could help with info or a knowledge base article on this topic. I need to add an 18.2 GB HDD to and ML370 server. The server already has (3) 18.2 GB HDD installed. Do I just plug in the drive since it is hot swap? Also, I would like to extend one of the partitions on a drive to include this new 18.2 GB (since we are low on space)? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Referring me to MS knowledge base article that explains this would be just as good. Thanks in advance.

Re: Add new SCSI drive for extra space

You can just plug in the drive and run the Array Configuration Utility, either from SmartStart or online from Windows.

You will see options to add the drive to the existing array. Then you will need to either add a second logical drive on the array or extend your exisiting logical drive (options depend on which controller you are using but basically if the utility gives you the option, your controller can do it)

Then use the Disk Administrator options in Windows to manage the free space you've created by adding the new drive.
