Adding a Hard Drive to DL360

I have a DL360 running ESXI 3.5 Raid 5. I need to add a hard drive to the setup. Could someone point me in the direction of some documentation that details how I go about doing this.

Since you didn't specify details, start here and choose your specific DL360 model and Hardware configuration:

thank you for your response. I originally went through those steps and couldn't find what I was looking for. I do have a DL360 G5 not sure what else you need to know that ism missing.

That's very vague but assuming it is an internal drive,
First you need to buy the drive. Part numbers here http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12476_div/12476_div.HTML#Storage

Then you need to configure the drive within your raid controller. There are a couple of options here. Create new logical disks or extend the existing ones.

Finally you have to use the added space within ESX. Again you have the option of extending existing volumes or creating new ones.

Re: Adding a Hard Drive to DL360

I'm sorry for being vague, I was describing my problem with assumptions not stated. I actually don't have a ton of server experience. My background is networking and my new position requires me to be more of an all around IT guy. We already have the Hard Drive and the server is running with a couple of VM hosts turned on. I need to add the drive to the array so that it expands the hosts current storage capacity. The setup is is Raid 5 and I assume that I'm expanding the raid array.
