Adding Storage to ML370 G4

We have an ML 370 G4 server with a 6400 controller with 4 SCSI ports. Currently we have two MSA30 storage shelves attached to this controller. We still have two ports free, can I attach two more storage shelves?

Re: Adding Storage to ML370 G4

Yes Rancher, I don't see a problem in doing that.

Based on :
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11587_na/11587_na.HTML
Look under "Family information"
Its says:
Maximum drives supported : 56*
* Based on use of MSA30 Enclosure family (14 drives enclosure)
14*4 = 56
;-)

Hence there should not be an issue. However, to be on the safer side.. get a 512 BBWC for better performance.

Re: Adding Storage to ML370 G4

Thanks Happy Dude! I thought we would be OK, I just wanted to make sure.
We already have 512 BBWC so we should be good to go!
