Adpu160m

NT4 server SP6a, 20/40GB autoloader
Once rebooting server every time, we got a error message in NT event viewer: the driver detected a controller error on device/scsiport1. The source name is adpu160m.
Scsi channel A is conneccted HD, Channel B is connected to Autoloader.

Re: Adpu160m

The file adpu160m is associated with a scsi controller card and not the on-board scsi controller. Do you have a scsi controller card in the server??

Re: Adpu160m

In control panel->tape device->Compaq TSL-10000; Compaq DDS (1-4) Tape Drive or Autoloader.
In control panel->scsi adapter-> adapter 19160,29160(N),39160, AHA-3960D,AIC-7892/7899, Ultra 160 PCI SCSI Controller, (NT4.0)

I downloaded the driver from www.compaq.com. If you need more information, let me know, thx.

Re: Adpu160m

What we need to do here is to use a previuos version of ADPU160m. Follow this link and back rev the driver please.

Re: Adpu160m

I tried it and the same thing happened. Try the link I gave you previuosly. If not see if you have a Smart Start cd Version 4.7. Follow the path of CPQSUPSW/NTSSD/SCSI/160M
There you will get the driver.
Sorry about this being such a problem.

Re: Adpu160m

I only have compaq smart start cd version 3.x, 4.9 and 5.0. I still can not download
that file from http://www5.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/download/8762.html.

Re: Adpu160m

I think there's a problem somewhere!! I've just got my ML350, only with a 18GB HDD.
But where I use the Smartstart CD to install Win NT 4.0, it gives me the error in the event viewer, adpu160m, driver detected a controller error on \device\scsiport1. I do not have any othere devices connected to my scsi card. This is ridculous!! From the Control Panel, SCSI Controller, I found that there are 3 lines of adaptec 19160... detected 2 devices, 1) Compaq BD0186349B and 2) Compaq Proliant 4L4I, obviously item 2 is not connected to my server, but I couldn't delete the device anyway. And the last line of adaptec detected a Pseudo with unknown device.
What's happening!! I never had these problem in my past experience with compaq server before.

Re: Adpu160m

Go to compaq website and download all the latest driver. Don't use the one with the smartcd.

Re: Adpu160m

Hi JSun:

Reduce the Bus Speed on the Adaptec Controller to the lowest value for the SCSI ID that the autoloader is on. Set initiate Sync Negotiation and Wide Negotiation to NO also.
