Re: Array 221 controller

There is no DOS driver for the controller - nor is there a DOS version of the ACU. All I can suggest is to run the ACU from Smartstart before you try to do the rest of the process.

We don't actively support Ghost so, there's not a lot else I can do.

Re: Array 221 controller

I have ghosted a Proliant 1600 with an 221 RAID card without problems, so I expect it to work with a ML 350 also. You must be sure however, that the 221 card is set as the first or second controller in the BIOS. That is because Norton Ghost only recognizes the first two disk controllers in a system.

I hope this helps you,

Re: Array 221 controller

I'm trying to do the same thing. I don't have a problem seeing my array (using the smart array 431 in raid 1) but I am having a problem having ghost see my tape drive (St 9000 compaq 12/24 at drive) I have down loaded the asp driver from compaq and it seems to load without problems but ghost does not see it.

Any ideas?

Re: Array 221 controller

Alan3-

I am having the same problem.
12/24DAT Ghost will not see it.
Using the line in CONFIG.SYS
device=fws2aspi.sys /LUN
shows the tape drive as SCSI 6 LUN 1, while the other 3 drives are SCSI 0,1,2 LUN 0
Ghost doesn't see it.

Have you found a solution?

Thanks You

Re: Array 221 controller

Scythe,

No solution yet. To be honest, I've kind of put it on the back burner.
I don't know what the problem is. When it boots off the ghost boot disk with the dos aspi drivers for the 12/24 dat drive, it see's the correct scsi lun, port , etc, gives no errors, but ghost will not see the drive. Symantec was no help and I hav'nt called compaq about it.

I will let you know if I find a solution, and if you find one, please forward the info to me.

Thx

Re: Array 221 controller

Compaq responded to me that I would have to contact Symantec.
Symantecs responses so far have been less that helpful.
I'll let you know what I find out, but I can only assume it will come from another user and not one of the vendors.

Please also let me know if you find anything. My email address is below.
