BIOS and BMC firmware updates for DL180se G6?

Hi, does anyone know if the BIOS firmware at least for this old machine can still be found somewhere?

There's a downloads page for it with dozens of firmware, but none for BIOS or BMC/iLO for that matter. Only for storage controllers, NICs and other peripherals: There is a downloads page for it here, https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/3896020/hpe-proliant-dl180se-g6-server#t=DriversandSoftware&sort=relevancy&numberOfResults=100

There is one on the DL180 G6 downloads page, but that one does not want to be installed on the "se" variant, it seems.

Can you provide the currently installed BIOS, ILO and BMC version?

Also, have you tried installing the DL180 G6 BIOS on your SE server? If yes, did it work?

Please update us if you were able to get the required firmware versions for the server?

Thank you

Re: BIOS and BMC firmware updates for DL180se G6?

Thank you for your attention. Unfortunately, not yet. I found the DL180 G6 bios download here: https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_2a3b9b9f01fd4c4995c7821cf6#tab2

Unfortunately this seems to be a Windows-only executable. In spite of being labeled as "OS Independent," the installation instructions also state that Windows is required. I did try running it under FreeDOS anyway, and it unsurprisingly failed.

Is there any direct-boot or DOS version of this update available for download? If not, I suppose it won't be possible to update the BIOS at all, as we don't have any Windows installations or licenses here

The below link contains the download of Firmware update DVD.

https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_0b48ac854d814d3c803c82ffc1#tab3

Using the Firmware update DVD, create an iso & boot the server through the iso. This will update the required firmware versions through an offline method which is not an OS dependant image.

There are other versions available too from the Revision History tab.

Thank you

Hi @DANDKS .
First of all, you are using a translator, so it may not fit the grammar. please understand.

I am in a similar situation to the questioner above. I was trying to update my DL180 G6 BIOS (https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c02773586), but I was looking for the BMC firmware as the recommendation said that the BMC should be updated first.

I am curious if updating with SPP will upgrade the firmware of both BIOS and BMC without any problems. And I'm curious what is the optimal SPP version for the DL180 G6?

Unfortunately, it is currently not possible to determine the server's BIOS and BMC version.

please answer about my question.
Thank you.
