Hi,
I have a ProLiant DL380 Gen10 server which has 2 x logical drives
the first is RAID 1
and the second is RAID 5 with x5 disks = 400 GB SAS 512e SSD
Ideally we want to increase the size of the second logical drive by hot swapping bigger disks into the array.
Is this possible without downtime for the users?
Storage controller = HPE Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10
thanks
Marcus

Re: Can i increase the size of my data partition on my ProLiant DL380 Gen10
Hello,
yes, this Controller supports this.
First, replace one by one with the bigger Disks.
Monitor and be sure that the rebuild is done before you change the next Disk.
If all Disks are swapped, you can extend the existing Array with the free Space and after that the Volume.
I'm not sure if you will need a Cache Battery to extend, but it is way faster with a Battery.
Use the HPE Smart Storage Administrator (SSA) to control and perform this Online.
(Software depend on your OS)
