Can't boot after system board replaced

I need to get an engineer to replace the system board in an ML310 server.

I have got instructions for him to configure the ILO so that I can remote on to the new board at startup, however when we initially replaced the board the system would not boot with a message along the lines of unrecognized drives.

The server has 4 HDD's configured in a RAID array which is what is causing the problem as the new board doesn't recognise the array.

Is there any way I can push the array configuration onto the system from the drives without having to wipe the drives?

Re: Can't boot after system board replaced

Trevor,

I believe that the embedded raid is disabled by default on a new system board.
Go into the BIOS - Advanced settings - then raid and enable it.
On the next boot, go into the raid configuration F8 and then into Raid Array Config Utility. Choose "Manage Arrays" and it should then see your configuration. It will be saved and then should be seen OK on the next reboot.

I think this is true for 100 series systems as well (ML110, ML150 etc).

I hope this helps.

Sent screenshots of the old BIOS settings to the engineer on site and was he was able to get the system configured and started perfectly.
