cannot install OS on DL20 and DL160 G10

Hello Lads,

we have recently purchased 2 HPE servers, DL20 and DL160 G10, as we are going to install OS(windows 2019 Standard) we kept the configuration simple and used the software controller SR100i.

right now in the Storage configuration as we chose the "AHCI" and when we are proceeding through the installation, for driver selections it shows us a lot of strange logical drives- some of them show as recovery, primary) and OS cannot be installed.

and as we choose also smart Array, during the OS installation there is no driver found, and suggested drivers on the HPE support center are not working as well.

has anybody faced this before? or is there any suggestion for this?

Hello,

You may refer to section "Manually injecting the device driver during OS installation" of the HPE SR Gen10 Plus Software RAID User Guide.

You may refer to the video titled "Manually Injecting S100i SR Gen10 Array Controller Driver during Windows OS Installation" for the procedure.

The number of partitions displayed differs depending on the hardware configuration. Please refer page#27 on the 3rd party link below. You can continue to install

Steps you can try:

  1. Change the copy of OS media and check (since you face the install issue with with 2 different servers).

  2. Please ensure BIOS is on/above version mentioned in page#4 of the below link:

3. Ensure S100i is set to RAID from System Utilities (F9). Try manual method to install (without Intelligent Provisioning) and use the following driver (Extracted) on a FAT32 formatted thumb drive.

4. If issue persists, delete and re-create RAID.

5. For testing purpose, install another version of windows.

6. Please log a support ticket if the above steps doesn't work, so that the issue can be checked over a remote session.
