cciss.c and tape device on 5i controller

Hello.
I have Compaq DL380 G2 server and RedHat Linux 7.1 on it. I have SmartArray5i
controller (onboard) and tape drive on it. Question is: are there any
possibilities to use tape device on Linux (with help of cciss). May be it's
off-topic, but features described in documentation (cciss.txt) does'nt work
(There are no options like "SCSI tape drive suport for 5xxx" in kernel
2.4.17). I waste a lot of time trying to find some advises in forums, Compaq
support center in my country etc. But I still can't use my tape device on
Linux :( Does it work?
Are there peoples who know how to use it? I've listened that cciss.c does'nt
support ONBOARD 5i controllers Is is true?
May be someone will be able to send me (and many other guys, I think) some advice about this undoccumented driver ;)
Thanx a lot.
P. S. e-mail can't be delivered to address array@compaq.com (declared in cciss.c) Who creates and supports this driver?

Re: cciss.c and tape device on 5i controller

I don't think it supported . the ciss driver only supported SCSI on Redhat 7.2 and above ..
check Compaq website (Added support for SCSI tape drives and medium changers. )
