7.2 will not boot SMP Kernel

Hi,
I installed Redhat 7.1 and also 7.2 on my 5500. The install goes fine, but when it goes to boot the smp kernel, it gets a Kernel Panic error message about not being able to find the root partition. If I boot with the non-smp kernel, it boots fine. I am at the latest system bios. Any ideas?

cheers**

Re: 7.2 will not boot SMP Kernel

Hi, any third party hardware on your system. If so try without if possible. Hope this will help.

Re: 7.2 will not boot SMP Kernel

The SMP kernel is obviously not working so you should try to reconfigure your current kernel to have SMP support and replace the old smp kernel.

Re: 7.2 will not boot SMP Kernel

HI
I had the similar problem with 7.3. Server just freezed.
I just forgot to change settings from Windows 2000 to Linux. After I had run System Configuraion Utility and had changed settings my server got fine.

Best regards,
