Change Array Controller 3200- 5300
Hy,
can anyone help me?
I have 2 disk raid 1 on a 3200 controller. Now I want to take my 2 disk an put them again in another server like the first one but different for the array controller (5300). Do you have any suggestion to do this operation without re-install the operating system?
What I have to do (if there is something that I can do) to change or add the new controller driver in NT environment in order to start the system with the new controller?
Thanks

Re: Change Array Controller 3200- 5300
You need to install & configure the 5300 controller in the server with the 3200. Leaving the drives attached to the 3200, install the drivers for the 5300. Down the server, boot up and change the controller order to make the 5300 CONTROLLER ORDER 1, save and exit. When the server reboots, power it off, disconnect the drives from the 3200 and attach to the 5300. The controller will pick up the array configuration off the disk drives and boot up. At this time, you would down the server again, if you wanted to remove the 3200, remove the controller and reconfigure the server again.
