changing drive sets on a smart array 5300
My organization has reciently set-up a classroom with a Proliant G3 server with a Smart Array 5300 RAID card and 4 hard drives. I have extra sets of drives I'd like to use for different server configurations to teach troubleshooting. Unfortunately the 5300 RAID array knows when I swap "sets" of drives to use a different configuration. I read a procedure some time ago about how to swap drive sets and tell the controller this so it doesn't think that it's fresh set of drives. Can someone point out this documentation to me?

Re: changing drive sets on a smart array 5300
all configuration stored on the HDD
if your set was previously configured with 5300 (or equal controller) per SCSI driver you should have no Problem.
more exact info .... ?

Re: changing drive sets on a smart array 5300
- you have to move all of the drives.
- the machine has to be powered off when you remove them.
As long as you do these two things it will work.
