Hi,
I have a compaq proliant 3000 server. It has a compaq smart array 3200 controller. while rebooting the system it is giving the error "1783-slot1 Array controller failure".
What could be possible reasons for this?
Also i would like to know incase of a replacement of the array controller can the controller be replaced without losing the data.

Solution
Hi,
There could be many different reasons for the error message, but it's likely that you will have to replace the controller.
If you do replace it, then it can be done without losing data. Configuration information for the array is held on the disks which allows for simple controller replacement.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Rob
