configure PSP on Ubuntu 10.04.1
i install Ubuntu server 10.04.1-i386 on DL 360 G7 and i try to install PSP (HP ProLiant Support Pack) i download the PSP from http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=4091409&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=4091408&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4093
and install with this instruction:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=1121486&swItem=MTX-799829d8271f455d9367978b5a&prodNameId=3288144&swEnvOID=4033&swLang=8&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=1
the problem is that in Compaq Insight Manager the status of the client is inaccessible
any ideas ?

Re: configure PSP on Ubuntu 10.04.1
Is the system management homepage working?
Tipically all you have to do is edit snmpd.conf and add something like
rwcommunity your_snmp_comm sim_server_name
... (then add trap destinations)
trapsink sim_server_name your_snmp_comm
restart snmpd and you're done.

Re: configure PSP on Ubuntu 10.04.1
Compaq Insight Manager System Insight Manager is the same software QIM is old version
>>Is the system management homepage working?
yes but in snmp configuration tab i see:
var snmpfilename = "./../../cgi-bin/snmpagent/tmp3.txt"; var snmpfiledata= ""; var md5snmpfiledata= "d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e"; var snmpaction = "stop"; var thispage = "/webagent/lxsnmpconf.php.en";
so i didn't see the snmpd.conf file from the web ...
any ideas ??

Re: configure PSP on Ubuntu 10.04.1
Also have issue with getting snmp to forward traps to hp sim, although system management homepage on the server itself works fine.
So if anyone has any input on this it would be very appriciated!
I can post any config/info that is needed
