connect disks to External SCSI VHDCI on DL360/DL380
Hello all,
i start working at a new company a few weeks ago. The company has several dl360 G1 and DL380 G2 servers. I have no experience with compaq proliant servers
Yesterday i tried to connect two external scsi disk to the VHDCI controller but without succees.
Afterwards i connected a tape drive without problems.
Is it impossible to connect one or several disks to this interface ?
Thanks in advance
Uli

Re: connect disks to External SCSI VHDCI on DL360/DL380
Hi there
The external port on the servers is LVD (low voltage differential) You can attach a tape drive(on its own) or you can attach a drive enclosure. You cannot mix a tape drive and a disk array.
If you have an array controller card installed and the second port is not used then I suggest you connect the external drive enclosure to that. Connect the tape drive to the onboard SCSI port on the back
Hope this shed some light
