Hello,
Could someone more familiar with hardware connection help with connecting a StorageWorks MSA60 with a DL380 G7?
The two units were ordered to work together but as I recall some time ago none of the blindly ordered cards to connect the units would fit.
We ordered and tried the following cards:
HP 398647-001 Smart Array P800/512 BBWC PCIe x8 SAS Controller
HP 617824-001 SC08E 2-PORTS EXT PCIE
HP 468406-B21 HP SAS Expander
As I recall all of the cards were too large. Does anyone know the specific card needed?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Connecting a MSA60 with a DL380 G7
Hello,
I see P800 no doubt supports MSA60, but this controller is not supported on DL380 G7 server.
Please find the quickspecs of DL380 G7 server
https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/c04199811.pdf?jumpid=in_lit-psnow-getpdf
Refer to Page 30.
You can use P812 controller.
P812 supports MSA 60

Refer page 4.
Thanks,
TAM

Re: Connecting a MSA60 with a DL380 G7
My apologies for the delay, it took some time to order the cards.
We ordered and received:
587224-001 HP Smart Array P812 PCIe1.0x8 RAID Controller 6.0Gb/s 1GB FBWC
487204-B21 HP P812 1Gbps FBWC PCI-E 2.0 x8 SAS/SATA Controller Card W/ Battery
Both were full sized and do not fit. They seem to be despite the numbers given the same exact card.
Is there another option?

SolutionI would say purchasing any hardware components, it is important to consult the product specifications and compatibility matrices for both the MSA60 and DL380 G7 to ensure proper compatibility and functionality.
An option you may want to consider is the HP Smart Array P212/ZM SAS Controller (PN# 462828-B21). This supports up to 8 internal or external SAS/SATA drives and is compatible with the MSA60 and DL380 G7.
Another option would be HP Smart Array P411 SAS Controller (PN# 462918-B21), which is a low-profile PCIe card that supports up to 8 SAS/SATA drives and is also compatible with both the MSA60 and DL380 G7.

Vinky_99 Thank you very much! We ordered the P212/ZM SAS Controller (PN# 462828-B21) and it works perfectly. Thank you again.
