Re: Diags for ML350 G4
The diagnostics in the past were OS independent. Ran from DOS bootable floppy at startup.
I just got another ML350 G4 server in to integrate and looked at the SmartStart 7.20. Now I remember why I couldn't get a floppy of diags. I have to believe those diags will not fit on a floppy. So that search is done.
This server has UNIX 5.0.7 installed.
Error message in /usr/adm/messages:
==========================
NOTICE: Sdsk: Unrecoverable error reading SCSI disk 0 dev 1/42 (ha=0 bus=0 id=0
lun=0) block=76776
Drive not ready: Being loaded
===========================
This message appears many time with the block= number changing. System is going down and requires a reboot to get it back up. Runs for a while then down it goes.

Re: Diags for ML350 G4
Form the error message it sounds like you are having a hard drive problem so the best bet will be to run ACU (ray Diagnostic Utility) from the smart start CD
You have mentioned that you ahve Smart Start 7.2 so you can use that to boot the server from and run the ACU
Once you boot to the smart start CD ACU is under maintenance tab
