Disable (cut power) Dynamic Smart Array B120i Controller on HP MicroServer Gen8

Hi there,

Using a H220 SAS HBA, I want to disable the integrated Dynamic Smart Array B120i Controller on my HP Proliant Microserver Gen8. In the BIOS, I disabled the embedded B120i controller and it stopped showing up in POST. However, that does not keep it from consuming power.

Is there advise on how to disable that chip, so it would not constantly consume power while no SAS cable is plugged in?

Thank you!!

Re: Disable (cut power) Dynamic Smart Array B120i Controller on HP MicroServer Gen8

Hello,

The Dynamic Smart Array B120i Controller is embedded on the system board and there is no mechanisim to remove power from either any embedded controllers or PCIe slots. The functionality alone may be configured from being enabled to disable and vice-versa.
