Disks not detected in P440ar controller
I have a HP proliant DL380 G9 server, with a P440ar controller, 4 disks are connected to this controller
the problem is that these disks are not detected by the controller in the storage administration interface
I did these operations but it doesn't work:
bios updated
unplug and plug the disks again
the disks are of the same capacity and same brand
restart the server quite a few times
change to HBA to detect the disks ==> unsuccessful
There is an information message displayed on the controller that says that there are no physical disks attached, yet the 4 are connected to the enclouser
How can I solve this problem?

Re: Disks not detected in P440ar controller
I suspect the SAS cable, you remove and reseat the SAS cables on both ends. ie the HDD cage as wellas controller
on Controller side it is a big connector

Re: Disks not detected in P440ar controller
Dear Abouda
It seems SAS cable connection issue, remove server top cover, remove SAS cable from both end (Controller and HDD backplan). check it properly for burn or tronned sign, if every thin is ok, re-connect properly with P440 controller end first, then HDD back plan end. power on server and check.if issue persist, check once with onboard SAS controller. if same you may replace SAS cable.
Hope, I could provide you with clear and helpful instructions. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help!
Have a great day!!
Thanks & Regards...
Rabindra

Betreff: Disks not detected in P440ar controller
We had a similar problem this week. It turned out that a technician did not plug the SAS connectors in properly. The connectors must be pushed into the socket until you hear the "click" from the retainer clip. Check that on both sides of the SYS cable.
We also had a case where the disk backplane was incorrectly seated in the metal frame. This created a gap between the disks and the backplane and the onnectors did not connect properly.
And finally the disk backplane could be faulty.

hi @sushil_P @rabindra11sharm @PDP-Fan ,
I disassembled the controller and reassembled it, also the cables are well connected and also the disks in their locations except that it did not solve the problem, still the disks have not detected
