Re: DL 360 Gen 10 Persistent Memory error 582
Hello @ charles111222
Please try
1. Swap the BIOS with Redundant BIOS
2. Re-flash BIOS
Please update the firmware of Sytem components including System ROM BIOS. You can use the SPP for system firmware update.
Service pack for HPE ProLiant Gen10 and 10 Plus | HPE Support Center
Have you installed DIMM or processor recently ? Please check the installed DIMMs (slots, maximum pMEM DIMMs, RDIMM/LRDIMM combination etc), refer this document page no. 8 and 21.
Note the following -
* HPE Persistent Memory only supported on 2 nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processor series (Platinum 8200, Gold 6200,
Gold 5200, Silver 4215 and 4215R)
* Maximum 12 Persistent memory DIMMs can be installed.
* Mixing of RDIMM and LRDIMM memory is not supported
Regards

Re: DL 360 Gen 10 Persistent Memory error 582
Dear HPE Support Team,
We are encountering an issue on our HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 (Serial No. CN78200139, System ROM ID: U32) where the system fails to recognize Intel Optane Persistent Memory 100 modules. During POST, the message “Persistent Memory configuration error 582” appears, and the PMem is not detected.
To diagnose the issue, we have performed the following checks:
Firmware and Component Versions
System ROM: U32 v3.60 (08/06/2025) – latest version installed
Redundant System ROM: U32 v3.60
System Programmable Logic Device (PLD): Version 0x2A
iLO 5 Firmware: v3.16 (Oct 06 2025)
Smart Array P408i-a SR Gen10 Firmware: v5.61
No independent UBM or Backplane PIC firmware objects found – indicating a UBM0 motherboard architecture.
Hardware Architecture Verification
Based on iLO CLI output and system topology, the server uses UBM0 (non-PLDM) design with no discrete UBM controller.
The CPLD (PLD 0x2A) is an early-generation embedded logic device, updated only via BIOS synchronization.
CPU: Intel Xeon Scalable 1st/2nd Generation, which lacks native AppDirect or NVDIMM-N (PMem) enablement.
Technical Analysis and Preliminary Conclusion
According to HPE public documentation, the DL360 Gen10 (U32 motherboard) does not support Intel Optane PMem 100 at the hardware level.
Only DL360 Gen10 Plus or later models (with UBM1 / UBM3 architecture) support Persistent Memory modules.
The U32 v3.60 BIOS does not include CPLD or PLDM initialization logic for PMem, resulting in the device not being enumerated.
We kindly request your confirmation on the following points:
Does the current U32 v3.60 System ROM include any CPLD/PLD update or synchronization logic?
If the DL360 Gen10 indeed does not support PMem 100, is there any upgrade path or alternative system board that enables this capability?
We can provide iLO logs, SPP version details, and full system inventory snapshots if needed.
Thank you for your support and assistance in verifying this issue.

SolutionDear HPE Support Team,
Thank you for your response and for sharing the documentation links regarding persistent memory compatibility.
I would like to request an official confirmation regarding whether HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 (System ROM: U32) fully supports Intel Optane Persistent Memory 100 Series when equipped with Intel Xeon Platinum 8260M processors.
Here is the background of our situation for clarity:
Our current server configuration:
Model: HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10
CPU: 2 × Intel Xeon Platinum 8260M (2nd Generation Scalable)
System ROM: U32 v3.60 (08/06/2025)
iLO 5: v3.16 (Oct 06 2025)
System Programmable Logic Device (PLD): Version 0x2A
SPP Version: 2025.07
The same processors and PMem modules function correctly in another platform — an H3C 4900G3 server — confirming that the PMem modules and CPUs themselves are operational.
However, on the DL360 Gen10, the system reports “Persistent Memory configuration error 582” and fails to detect the PMem modules during initialization.
I understand from your reply that there is no separate CPLD firmware and no alternate system board available. However, HPE’s own marketing and documentation materials have stated that the DL360 Gen10 supports persistent memory with 2nd Generation Xeon Scalable processors.
Therefore, I would like to confirm specifically:
Does HPE officially support Intel Optane PMem 100 on DL360 Gen10 (U32) systems with Platinum 8260M CPUs?
If not, could you please clarify whether the support applies only to the DL360 Gen10 Plus platform?
Your confirmation will help us align our hardware compatibility and deployment plan accordingly.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards

Re: DL 360 Gen 10 Persistent Memory error 582
Dear HPE Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to seek your assistance regarding an issue with enabling Intel® Optane™ Persistent Memory (PMem) on my HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 server.
My system is configured with the following components:
- CPUs: 2 × Intel® Xeon® Platinum 8260M processors (part of the Platinum 8200 series)
- DRAM: 8 × 32GB HPE DDR4-2933 ECC RDIMMs (HPE original)
- Persistent Memory: 8 × 128GB Intel PMem 100 Series modules
All these components are known to be compatible and have been functioning correctly in other servers, so there are no hardware quality concerns.
According to HPE’s official documentation, the DL360 Gen10 supports Intel Persistent Memory, and my hardware configuration fully meets the stated CPU and memory requirements. However, when attempting to enable PMem on this specific server, the system displays an error message indicating that the System Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) firmware must be updated to version 0x2E or higher.
In a previous response dated November 12, I was informed that “There is no separate download for CPLD update.” Given this, I would like to kindly ask:
- Is it currently possible to update the CPLD firmware to version 0x2E or later on the DL360 Gen10?
- If so, what is the recommended method? Does it require a specific SPP (Service Pack for ProLiant) version, iLO firmware update, or an on-site service intervention?
- If not, does this mean Persistent Memory cannot be enabled on this particular unit despite meeting all documented hardware requirements?
I would greatly appreciate any clarification or guidance you can provide to resolve this situation.
Thank you very much for your time and support.
