DL360 G5 - Fan's speed not scaling with temperature
Greetings,
I have some concerns regarding how the fans are operating in my DL360 G5 server.
Hardware:
DL360 G5 - 1U server
2x xeon L5420
8x 2GB DIMMs
Operating System:
VMware VSphere 5.0 (ESXI)
Situation:
Fan speed does not seem to scale with temperature change. E.G the server will heat up but the fans will stay at around 30% speed (according to ILO2). The primary heat producer appears to be the memory. Runs around 49C according to sensor.
Question:
1. Is there anything I can do to make these fans run faster?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Re: DL360 G5 - Fan's speed not scaling with temperature
Hi Joshua,
Regarding this issue, you could consider updating BIOS and iLO firmware.
If you check the iLO firmware revision history, there have been some updates regarding the temperature problems.
I work for HPE.

BIOS and ILO2 Firmware are up to date. Any other ideas?

Re: DL360 G5 - Fan's speed not scaling with temperature
Hello,
How did you get to regulate the fans in order to max them out. I have the same problem, fans at 34%, 29%, 37% no matter what the temperature is.
