DL360 G5 slow network transfer
We have 2 new DL360 G5's (3GB RAM, P400i, 2x72GB Raid 1 and 4x146GB Raid 5). One is a DC/File Server, the other is an Exchange 2007 Server, both are running Windows 2003 x64 Standard. Both are running psp7.7 and both have the NC series 2.8 driver. Both are plugged into a ProCurve 2848 switch. We also have an old PowerEdge 2300 Server plugged into the same switch (dual 1ghz, Intel Pro 1000MT NIC Windows 2003 Server Std x86).
We try an 80 file transfer from all three servers to a workstation. The Dell takes about 8-10 seconds, both HPs take about 40 minutes. We plug all the hardware into a 2824 switch, same thing. We try a $30 8 port 10/100 switch, all servers transfer in under 10 seconds. We have tried manual speed and duplex settings on the nics and switch and have not found a resolution. Transfers to an iomega NAS are quick as well. We are pretty sure it is the G5's but have no other nics to try in them. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: DL360 G5 slow network transfer
This is a wild shot, but i would suggest you try disabling the TOE engine in the HP network config util.
Select the ports in the utility > Properties > Advanced Settings > TCP Offload Engine > untick.
It seems to be causing problems for a lot of people.

Re: DL360 G5 slow network transfer
Thanks for the response, we figured it out last night. Ended up being an issue with the Procurve's. Ran the qos-passthrough-mode command and everything was suddenly better.
