Merry christmas,
Im sitting here with a DL360 Gen 10, and wanted to boot and install the "system recovery Firmware Update" and the latest SPP :
"P35939_001_gen10spp-2021.04.0-SPP2021040.2021_0409.17"
Created a 32GB stick using the provided HP usb tool.
While reading I learned that a I should update the System Recovery Firmware, before flashing any other firmware.
The file is called "recovery-set-update-110.9". Which would be dated 3 / 2018
How to check which one is already installed ?
This server just got purchased.
BIOS is U32 01/23/2021
ILO is 2.33 Apr 30 2021
I created this thread, because neither recovery nor the SPP will really work.
Recovery starts booting, asks for ILO Login and then hands out a :
ls: /ops/srs/fw/*: No such file or directory
Error: Could not extract the System Recoverc Firmware files
Logging Session out
Something to do with Provisioning ?
Sadly Im in a hurry here, can I just update BIOS and ILO etc. or shall I check for the current recovery set version 1st (and how would I do that ?)
I also registered at HPE and would like to know if there is a "big driver only DVD" available.
Becasue the OS (Server 2022 Standard/Essentials) is missing quite a lot items in the device manager. I was hoping to not to have to install everything manually.
Solved! Go to Solution.

SolutionHi,
the "big driver only DVD" is also the SPP.
It contains the Firmware and Driver for most OS.
For Windows as an example, start launch_sum.bat from your PC or directly on the Server to deploy all Driver and Software.
I'm doing HPE Server for many Years and never Update the Recovery Set.
Just boot from SPP using iLO ISO Media Mount, or create a Bootable USB Stick with the USB Creator tool (usbkey.exe) in the /USB/ Folder.
Cali

Re: Dl360 Gen10 - System Recovery "Pre"-Update Fails (not found) ?
Thank you for the reply and answer !
I tried it today by unpacking the ISO and it started the SUM tool via the web browser after double clicking the bat file.
I had to login into the started HP Tool, where I used the provided server credentials (Admin account). As it worked I guess that was right or just not needed at all ?
It rebooted 2 times to flash the firmwares on the startup process. Everything has worked as you wrote and it even warned me to manually update the 420i Controller firmware, before installing the latest one.
Kudos to you and for a really nice Update Wizard by HP, where I can just add fitting PKG files to the package folder, just to restart the whole process again, where it will only auto detect the latest updates that I added.
Appreciated !
