DL360P GEN8 health light flashes red quickly

DL360P GEN8 health light flashes red quickly and does not turn on
Like the question, after reading the ILO log, it suddenly shuts down and then cannot turn on. At present, the red light on the front panel is flashing quickly. I checked the document and said that it was a PSU problem. After changing the power supply, it was still the same. ILO was upgraded and upgraded normally.

(ILO has been updated to the latest

The following is the error code reported by ILO

System Power Fault Detected (XR: 20 A2 MID: FE 0D FC 04 FF FF 2A 2A 0C 0C 41 3F 00 00 40 00 81 00 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00)

The CPU is a E5-2640x2 memory 16G 300G SAS hard disk, and there is no problem after testing

Re: DL360P GEN8 health light flashes red quickly

Hello,

Please do perform the below.

1. Please do perform an SPP update by downloading the latest SPP for Gen8 servers

https://techlibrary.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/products/service_pack/spp/index.aspx?version=Gen8.1

2. Update the BIOS.

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/swd/detail?swItemId=MTX_1a321022cc8d498280cec623da#tab-history

3. Clear NVRAM :

  • Remove all power supplies from the server,
  • Locate the System Maintenance Switch on the motherboard - It's a set of 10 DIP switches.
  • Turn switch #6 switch on. (S6)
  • Insert all power supply units.
  • Power on the server and allow it to idle for 3 minutes.
  • Power the server off.
  • Remove all power supplies.
  • Return DIP switch #6 to off (original) position.
  • Reinsert the power supplies.
  • Power the server on.

4. If the issue persists, perform a minimal configurations and isolate the faulty part.

5. If the issue perists, we suspect this might be a faulty system board.

Thanks.

Re: DL360P GEN8 health light flashes red quickly

Hello
I set the maintenance switch to ON mode, but the red light still flashes quickly after I turn it on
Regarding the proposal to update the BIOS, the server could not be turned on at all. I checked the ILO log and found that the server was suddenly shut down at 5:00am a certain day. This server has not cleaned the dust in the chassis. I found that the silicone pad of the CPU's MOS power supply heat sink is already covered with dust. Is the power supply of the server unable to start due to the short circuit of the MOS power supply?

Re: DL360P GEN8 health light flashes red quickly

The CPU power supply of the mainboard is broken, and the MOS tube breaks down. Take me a 2640. After replacing the mainboard, the test power supply is OK
