DL380 diskspace using W98 bootdisk

Hi,

I have a Compaq Proliant DL380 with 3x 36GB HDDs - RAID5. To create some partitions I'd like to use a Windows 98 bootdisk instead of booting from a W2k CD and do it there.
When I boot from the W98 boot disk, it tells me that the max. available diskspace is only 3900 MB.
How can I see the whole diskspace using a Win98 bootdisk?

W98 can't make NTFS partitions.

Curious why you want to use 98 instead of W2K?

We usually boot our new servers with a Win98 boot disk and create all necessary partitions (C, D, E,...). Afterwards we start the W2k installation using a Win98 network bootdisk and start the unattended setup installation. The existence of partition C and E is required due to our unattended setup script that copies during the installation many files to the E-drive.

My problem seems to be related to the RAID controller because I see all available diskspace on our HP Netservers using a Win98 bootdisk.

Make life easy by creating a Array with smartstart Raid utility. Then using O/S boot cd-rom, go with custom option and create only your first drive C: your normal default size. Then after the os is loaded, if it's WIN2K use MS Computer management and then diskmangement to create new drives in the unused space.

You may have your own reason's for wanting to do it before the o/s install.
