DL380 G4 using win2k3 server crash
hello,
A proliant dl380 G4 with win 2k3 server SP2 and smartstart 7.90 has crashed the 08/21/2007.
I have installed the SP2 and the smartstart 7.9 the 08/01/2007.
this server is used as file server and print server, it is connected to a MSA1000.
The OS is on internals disks connected on a SA-6i.
this server had never crashed before.
sombody know if the MS patch kb932755 is needed.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932755
I haven't installed it, is it the reason of the crash.
with le last version of hp drivers is-it necessary to install it?
you can see the differents events...
regards
Pascal

Re: DL380 G4 using win2k3 server crash
Yes brenton,
1) install all latest firmware & drivers
from
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/69_6097.html
( i hope this one is the packaged cluster with MSA 1000, if not select DL380 G4 separately.
Once this is done, monitor the server. & if needed ONLY then install the STORPORT storage driver.
Regards,
James.

Re: DL380 G4 using win2k3 server crash
Ok, I will try to update firmave and drivers.
But it isn't a known problem with the SP2 of W2k3 ? or may be with viruscan enterprise 8.0.0 ?
thank you for your help
Pascal
