Hi!
I want to upgrade a server with some hdd and ram, but do not know how many slots etc are available. The model number is 379912-421
It has 4x scsi drives installed and 4x 512 ram.
I want to get +4x 1gb ram or maybe bigger modules if it is possible. Does it need a memory card or are the dimms on the motherboard?
I also want to get more space so I think it would be nice to get a proper SATA controller with raid5 support and 4x 320gb drives or use the integrated IDE drive with software raid, but that is not what I really want.
Now there are 4x scsi drives installed.
Is there enough space in the server for the new drives? What controller do you recommend?
Thanks, Antal

Hi
The server has 8 dimm slots so u have 4 dimm slots left, u can install 4* 1gb ram modules.
And regarding the sata controller, you can go for Smart Array P600 Controller. The server has 6 hdd slots, so you can put in 2 more hdd's.
