DL380 G7 not seeing AJ764A (8Gb Dual Port PCI-e Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter)

Hello,

I am trying to install the AJ764A into a DL380 G7, the BIOS is now up to date on the G7.  The lights are on, but no one is home.  The fibre connections are showing 4 lights in total.

When I boot the server I don't get the normal entry in the BIOS startup, where I can press CRTL Q, if I go into the G7 BIOS I can't see the card listed in the PCI list.  Obviously nothing is listed in ESXI.

Anyone know what I have done wrong?  Do I need a different type of riser?

I am waiting to test the card in another server, this will take a while to organise.

Thank you.

Regards Justin.

Hello JK,

Could you share the slot no. in which the HBA is installed. If Slot 15 please try another one and check.

Hello JK

In addition to the above suggestion, reseat the card and check if the issue is resolved. Install a known working card in the slot and check if that is detected in RBSU. If so, then the issue could be with this PCIe card.

As the connector type is PCIe x8, install the card in a x8 Connector Width slot and check if it is recognized in the server’s RBSU. Click here the server’s QuickSpecs for details of PCIe riser slot connector width. Refer to section "Standard Features > Expansion Slots" for further information.
