Am planning to order a DL380 with 12 SATA HDD on it.
Would it be possible to connect the first 8 HDDs to the HP Flexible Smart Array P440ar Controller and the next 4 HDDs to the HP Dynamic Smart Array B140i Controller?
All 12 HDDs should be online and useable at the same time.
If this is not possible, any solution to have 12 HDDs without the 12G SAS expander?
Thanks in advance!

SolutionHello @JerixI
With the specifications you have provided, I recommend looking at the HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 E5-2620v3 2.4GHz 6-core 1P 16GB-R P840/ar/4GB 12LFF 2x800W PS Base Server (752688-B21), which supports 12LFF drives standard, without adding a SAS expander or adding a controller, this model has the HP Flexible Smart Array P840ar/4G Controller.
The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 also has the server warranty that includes 3-Year Parts, 3-Year Labor, 3-Year Onsite support with next business day response. For more specifications of this series server please visiting the HP ProLiant DL380 QuickSpecs.
If you would like to speak with an HP Server specialist, please let me know and I will arrange a contact for you.
