DL380 gen9 Critical Temperature Threshold Exceeded error, not showing sensor info
Hi to all
im facing a issue with a DL380 GEN9 server, with 1 processor config, fans in 3 4 5 6 slots as the instrucctions says, it wont post, just cycles between amber and green power led, the health led is blinking red, checking IML on ILO 4 reports "Critical Temperature Threshold Exceeded" on every reboot, but it doesn´t show any info about what sensor is sending error or anything else, i tried bios update, ilo update, both flashed succefully, a weird thing i noted is that, there is no info about fans status, only shows status = unknown, same for the power supplies and ram, what the issue could be?

Re: DL380 gen9 Critical Temperature Threshold Exceeded error, not showing sensor info
Hello,
1. please, Power cycle the server once (Perform complete power cycle ( remove all the cables , press and hold the power button for 15seconds) , then try to boot the server.)
2. please perform "Restoring default system settings" Steps in the below link
3. If the issue remains , we will further have to check the H/W logs.
so if the issue remains please log a case with HPE support.
Regards

Re: DL380 gen9 Critical Temperature Threshold Exceeded error, not showing sensor info
Hi, thanks for your response, think we are missing something here, the system won´t boot, just cycles, the power led goes from blinking green, to blinking amber with healt led red, then again starts that cycle, so i can´t enter to Operating System, can´t even enter bios, cause there is no video, it turns on only for 2 seconds and then again blinking amber with healt led red, the only thing i can do, is enter to ilo, so the step 2 you suggest, is not viable, alredy cleaned nvram, and did step 1, with and without cmos battery and even without raid battery, i send captures of the errors ilo "detects" , and some other info about the actual state of the server according to ilo
as you can see, it is not giving any info about temperatures, not giving any info about what sensor is getting "critical temperature"

Re: DL380 gen9 Critical Temperature Threshold Exceeded error, not showing sensor info
Hello,
We suspect, it could be system board issue.
However before we recommend any H/W part , we would need to check the H/W Logs.
Hence please log a support case.
