DL380 installing network cards
Please could someone tell me the correct way of installing network cards in a Proliant DL380.
I have the embedded card which comes with the chassis, and extra 100baseT card and a Giga bit card, both shipped to me with the server from the Compaq supplier.
I installed NT using the smart start CD. When networking was being installed it said Network failed after showing no adapters, services etc in the bindings.
I tried reinstalling networking but I had to use the driver which came with NT. I used SMART start CD to install the correct drivers and this was OK. I removed the NT compaq drivers but decided to try and find the correct method of installing the cards.
I tried removing Networking and then tried to install the drivers from the Smart start CD ROM. It said you had to install networking.
I tried copying the install disks to the hard drive, I copied the contents of the 5 disks to the same directory. I installed networking and used 'have disk' to find the drives. I looked like it was going to install them, but I got Network failed after showing no adapters, services etc in the bindings.
So, could someone tell me the correct method of installing networking on these servers from scratch.
Many thanks
Larry

Re: DL380 installing network cards
Same way as any other system. Insert the card, run setup, load drivers... Now - what specific cards were added (Compaq - 3Com...etc...)?
