DL380p G8 NVMe boot with usb bootloader
Hi! I was wondering if it would be possible to first, clone the OS from my raid 1 array to an M.2 SSD installed in a PCIe NVMe adapter, and second, transfer the bootloader to a USB that I can keep installed in the internal usb port so that my os can effectively boot and run on the M.2 SSD. I'm aware that the G8 series servers don't support booting directly from PCIe NVMe adapters, so I'm searching for a workaround. It would be a very nice upgrade to be able to run my os on an M.2 enterprise SSD rather than a SAS raid. Also this way, I can fully utilize the SAS bays for other data storage since the OS won't be installed on there anymore.

Re: DL380p G8 NVMe boot with usb bootloader
Greetings!
As you are aware, M.2 drives are not a configurable option on the HP ProLiant DL380p Generation8 (Gen8).
