DL560 with 4 CPU power off when compiling in CentOS ( RHEL's clone )
hi
I have two (2) Proliant DL560 with 4CPU instaled, when i try to compile using "make -jN" ( 8 >= N >= 4) the server just power off with the front panel LED showing a "power fail" problem.
if i remove one CPU, so i have tree (3) installed, i can compile without any problem, using make -jN ( 6 >= N >=3).
i get this behaivor in both DL560.
I use CentOS-3.4, a clone of RHEL-3 U4, but also try with CentOS-4Beta ( a clone of RHEL-4 beta) with the same result.
i update the ROM to the last version (9-15-2004) and nothing change.
Both DL560 have two power supply, one connected to our central UPS system and the other connected to the external power line, i try connecting both to the UPS system and nothing change either.
i change the fourth CPU by a new one, same result.
what else should i do to find the source of the problem?
