Firmware Update Smart Array 6400
Server: ML370 G3
Firmware SmartArray 6400: 2.32
OS: SLES9
When I try to update to 2.34, I get this error:
Online ROM Flash Component for Linux - Smart Array 6400
* Version of rom to be flashed: 2.34
Error while discovering devices after Discovery 1
See /var/cpq/Component.log for details
Component.log:
02/01/2005 09:13:14: program start.
Tue Feb 1 09:13:14 2005
ERROR opening /dev/cciss/c1d0: No such device or address
Error while discovering devices after Discovery 1
02/01/2005 09:13:14: program end.
We have only /dev/cciss/c0d0.
Thanks for help.

Do you have the SA6400 with the EM module? (i.e., the SmartArray 6404 model)
the address c1 is "controller 1" and is trying to find devices attached to the EM controller.
Does the update fail out without updating the base controller?

Yes, it is a SA6400 with an EM module. There is nothing attached at the module.

During POST, does the 6400 display the new bios or no?
Have you tried using the diskette version of the update and the Firmware Update CD?
