DL580 G2 - Can't install Insight Manager agents

Hi everybody,

I had to reinstall a Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 on a DL580 G2.
I didn't use the Smartstart cd though.

Now I'm trying to install the Insight Manager agents (7.51). Here is the message I get:

"The software is not supported for installation on this system.
The installation program couldn't find the appropriate system management controller driver which is required but is not currently installed. Please install the appropriate system management controller driver and then rerun the setup program."

Then I tried to install the Advanced System Management Controller Driver (5.37) and I got the following message:

"The software will not be installed on this system because the required hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't apply to this system"

I'm probably doing something wrong but can't figure it out. Can someone hepl me please ?

Do you have SNMP installed?

SNMPS is installed and started but not configured.

SNMP does not have to be configured for installation of HP agents.
I suggest you to try to install the latest version of agents.
If that does not work then maybe 7.30.

Try to install 5.41 version of the driver: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24331.html

After that I suggest you to try to install the latest version of agents (ie 7.80).

It's working now !!

After installing iLO system management controller, I was able to install the agents.
I still don't understand the link between iLO and the agents though....

Hi ui am getting this same message but my server has no iLo installed . But I am stil ltrying to install the Hp managemenbt agents

Juan -- no, it's not. The thread started almost 1 year ago by Eric; tdubb has chimed in that he is having the same error message but did not identify his server model.
