Drive failed in RAID5-Array, a hot-spare drive is configured
I thought that the hot-spare drive replaced the failed drive. What can i do so that the hot-spare drive is the replacement for the failed drive?? We don't need absolutely a hot-spare (we supervise with HP SIM). Which possibilities do i have?

Re: Drive failed in RAID5-Array, a hot-spare drive is configured
Can you confirm if the hot spare has taken over and has completely rebuilt.
If you intend not to use the hotspare.. you can take out the drive and put it in the slot in which the drive has failed(do not remove the drive if the drive is rebuilding).
As always, make sure you have a valid backup to save the precious DATA, before you try the step.
Regards,
Akarsh

Go to ACU then spare management and remove the spare from there.

http://docs.hp.com/en/9320/acu.pdf
On page 24 shows how to make and "extend array" since the screen shoot shows your RAID 5 with three drives in, you just have to add a new on the array
