Dual-core - what HAL to use?

Hi,

For a dual-core server, such as a DL380 G5, what Windows 2000 HAL should I be using? It is not technically 2 processors, but since it is dual-core, does the OS want/need the "ACPI Multiprocessor PC" or should I leave it at "ACPI Uniprocessor PC" since it is 1 socket?

The reason I ask is I recently used P2Proliant software to migrate from a DL380 G1 to a DL380 G5 and it kept the HAL driver for the old processor (UniProcessor). However, under taskmanager, on the performance tab for CPU utilization, it shows 2 CPU graphs. I am wondering if I will get better performance if I upgrade the HAL drive to the Multiprocessor value.

For our dual core desktops and laptops i used the halaacpi.dll to get our existing image working. i copied halaacpi.dl_ from the i386 folder to the system32 folder, deleted hal.dll and renamed halaacpi.dl_ to hal.dll (all at dos prompt)

as your server is already displaying two cpu's in task manager i think it is already using the correct hal. it should use Uniprocessor as it is one processor with ACPI.
