Enabling Drive Cage

I have a proliant 3000 with 3 -1" 18.2 GB drives in slots 0,1,2 in drive cage A. I want to add 3 more of the same drives. I added one drive in slot 3 of drive cage A and the other 2 in slots 0,1 in drive cage B. My system recognized the drive in cage A but not the drives in cage B (doesn't even recognize the available slots in B). I know this has to do with whether the Cage is Simplex/Duplex etc. but I'm not sure how to check for this or how to make it recognize all drives that were added. Any suggestions or instructions on how to setup the cage would be great.
