Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

Hi,

I am trying to load the Firmware DVD 9.10 on a Proliant DL380G4 server.
I do get the first screens (with the question for interactive mode or automatic mode)
However, after a few minutes i get the following information:
CD information
mount directory /mnt/boot
Physical device: /dev/sr0
volume_label: HPFWUP910
SS_CD_MOUNTPOINT: /mnt/boot
Boot env: yes
Architecture: x86_x64
fwupdatesystem0013216b039b: #bootar: cannot connect to X server:0

I am using an iso file and ILO2 (virtual media)
What is going wrong?

greetings,

Kick

Re: Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

Broken ISO or any (firmware related) problem with virtual media? What is the current iLO firmware?

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

The current firmware of ILO is 1.94
Also the ILO self test is "passed"

I have downloaded the firmware DVD 2 times now and still no succes.
I can boot the 8.60 FW and 9.00 FW DVD with virtual media.

Re: Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

From instructions:

To ensure the integrity of your download, HP recommends verifying your results with this MD5 Checksum value:
eb72cb8861356ab57ba6a09fb85dbaec firmware-9.10-0.zip

Hope this helps!

Well, i found a tool to check a file.
The zip file and checksum number are the same. In other words, the check was succesfull.

Re: Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

I'm having the same problem.
I'using a USB memory created with the HP USB Key Utility.

The server that I'm having the problem on is a DL385 G1.

It's working on a DL360 G6.

Re: Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

I did some extra testing.
Same Firmware DVD iso on a Proliant DL 380 G5 server.
The firmware was able te load correctly.
It seems that the firmware 9.10 DVD is not working correctly with some Proliant servers.

@Manuel

No the Proliant DL380 G4 is on the hardware list of FW910

Re: Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

hm.... you are right, but i tried 9.0/9.1 on dl 380/360 - g2/g3/g4 never worked - so always used the 8.70 cd. dunnow why they are on the HP Firmware DVD supported list, strange.

9.0/9.1 worked on all g5/g6/g7 servers as well.

Re: Error during boot proces Firmware DVD 9.10

Hi,

I noticed that the link i provided earlier is not working anymore and that the latest firmware option for the G4 is altered in 9.00 (was 9.10)
In other words, HP changed it.
