Error Message: An authenticationFailure trap signifies that the SNMP entity has received
Hi all,
Out of blue the following error message appeared on one of our ProLiant DL380 ::
An authenticationFailure trap signifies that the SNMP entity has received a protocol message that is not properly authenticated. While all implementations of SNMP entities MAY be capable of generating this trap, the snmpEnableAuthenTraps object indicates whether this trap will be generated.
We are using in production three of these devices and configuration is identical.
Any ideas why this happens.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Oliver

Hi OMW72,
There may be some other application which is doing the SNMP scanning. Please refer this community post.
Otherwise, you may try to disable the snmp trap. Please refer this community post.
