Hello all. First time post.
I am considering the purchase of a second hand server. I was looking at either the ML350P Gen8 or the Z820 / Z840 series ( I realize that this is considered to be a desktop workstation). Either unit would assist me in consolidating 6 other smaller PC's that serve as hosts for a myriad of apps. (Nextcloud, TrueNAS, HestiaCP, Plex Media Server, Prestashop, etc.) I have a few questions if I may.
Can the ML350P Gen8 be configured with 256GB of Ram
Is the ML350P Gen8 extremely noisy
Does the ML350P Gen8 consume a great deal of energy.
Pros / Cons.
Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Re: HP Proliant ML350P Gen8 vs Z820 / Z840
Hello,
You may refer to section "Memory" on page 49 of the HPE ProLiant ML350p Gen8 Server's QuickSpec for information about the types of DIMM capacities available, the way of configuring server memory and the maximum achievable memory capacity based on such information.
Regards,

SolutionML servers have big Fans and are not as nosy, as DL Server.
Power depends on, the CPU Load, CPU Type, Memory Size, Type and Number of Disks, and Type of Power Supply, difficult to say.
