Re: ESXI 6.5 U3 module problem with internal B120i -- Failed to add device -- in kernel.log
Seems like B120i Embedded software raid controller driver trying to read ODD as Raid device.
My suggestion:
1. Update Hpvsa driver and check (Ignore if already updated), or
2. Disable B120i embedded Raid mode in BIOS and use AHCI mode (If you have other Raid controller to manage the Physical drives.)
Addition to that,
Please try updating VMware patches that might help (if there are new patches available),
-Install older vmware version...esxi6.0 and see if that works.
-Also you can try to 'add ..' a 'scsi device' while editing the VM settings. and see if it works.
Regards,
Sudhir
