event id: 11
The event viewer has been logging the following error: Event ID: 11 Source: disc Desc: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\harddisk1 How can I verify whether or not I have a controller problem? If it is not a controller problem, what else could it be? Thanks! fad

Re: event id: 11
Fadillah:
Event ID: 11 can be a driver problem or that a problem really does exits on Hard Disk 1.
You should update the controller drivers loaded on the server before determining if there is a hardware problem.
What Model and generation server do you have? (i.e., ML370 G1)
What Array Controller do you have installed, if any? (i.e., SmartArray 532)
What O/S are you running (i.e., Win NT, Win2K, etc...)?
Let me know and I can point you to the drivers to update with.

Alternatively, you can run some extensive diagnostics on the drives from here:

Fadillah:
Are you running the latest ProLiant Support Pack (PSP)?
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/19614.html
This package will install all the drivers and software you need.
If this problem persist, you very well may have a drive going bad.
