Expand Disk on Existing Array (DL380 G5)

Hi,

Our Controller is Smart Array P400 in Slot 1 and currently has 4 disk (146GB, configured as RAID 5, I'm wandering how I can expand the existing Array A if I decided to add another Disk.

We have ACU 8.10.10 and check everything on the settings, however there is no option to expand or add disk to an existing array, it will only allow to add another array.

hope somenoe can help me.

thanks

Hi,

I might be totaly off with this bud as far as I remember for these steps you need a BBWC.

So I'd check if a bettery is installed for the P400.

A already have Array Accelerator Installed and it is enabled, currently have 256MB, I don't know if this is the BBWC you've mentioned.

See page 22. There is an illustrated picture of the battery. As I understand you have the cache. Thats good. But see if you also have the battery connected to it. In most cases you have to orded it separately AFAIK.

Re: Expand Disk on Existing Array (DL380 G5)

Note: you have to have an unassinged disk present to see the expand option in ACU.
